Lisa J. Frank Travel Grant Program

Traveling to an in-person event shouldn’t be out of reach because of cost. If you’re a young breast cancer survivor or thriver, travel grants are available to help cover your expenses so you can be there in person and surrounded by people who truly get it.

These grants are made in honor of the legacy of Lisa J. Frank, whose dedication to supporting the young breast cancer community lives on through this program.

Unfortunately, grant applications for the 2026 YSC Wellness Summit have closed due to the overwhelming response.  We’re always working hard to bring more people to YSC events and will reopen applications if more funds become available.

Before You Apply

• Hold off on registering for the Wellness Summit until you hear from us. Registration details will come with your notification.
• If you’re applying for a travel grant, please skip the registration fee waiver application.

What You Could Receive

Approved grants are a flat award:  $500 if you’re traveling from California, Washington State, Oregon, or Idaho, or $700 if you’re coming from anywhere else. Your grant can be used toward:

• Your hotel stay at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington (you’ll book your own reservation; a credit card is required to hold it, but you won’t be charged at booking)
• Transportation costs, including flights, trains, buses, parking, ground transportation, or mileage

Travel grants are designed to help offset your costs, but they may not cover everything. We encourage you to look into travel prices ahead of time so you have a full picture of what to expect.

Eligibility

• Demonstrated financial need based on household income
• Open to young breast cancer survivors and young adults living with metastatic breast cancer, with additional funds for for co-survivors when available
• Priority is given to applicants who haven’t received a YSC travel grant in the last 2 years

Timing

• Applications are open through August 1, 2026, or until funds are exhausted
• You’ll hear back within 15 business days of submitting
• Your grant will be issued within 4 weeks after the Wellness Summit once we confirm your attendance
